This project was very different from our usual work due to a large part of the interiors imported outside of Finland and a unique structural design. We built the frame of the building out of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF), which are, roughly speaking, blocks made out of expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation. They look just like Legos, but with one distinction, they are filled with concrete at the end. There are multiple ways to finish the walls from the outside, but in this case, we did it with plastering. We made the interior design in a classical style by combining dark brown wooden elements with white cornices, stucco moldings, and other similar design elements.
